IN THE DAYS OF SMALL BEGINNING
In June 1971 (after three months of wrestling with the Lord whether I should return to Nigeria or remain sturborn to the call), I boarded the ship, MV NNAMDI AZIKIWE and sailed from the port of Monrovia back to Nigeria, having been stopped on my planned journey to Holland in pursuit of further education. I returned to Nigeria, set, to carry out the Sinkor Mandate. Having been checkmated back to the Assemblies of God where I rrightly belonged and in order to have a storng ministerial base since I had no ambition to become President Founder of a Campus Outreach Ministry, I presented a memorandum to the Assemblies of God Executive Committee during its sitting at Enugu in September 1971. In this memorandum, I formerly briefed the Executive Committee on my call and mandate aand requested its blessing to go into campus ministry under the auspices of the Church. The Assemblies of God had no such outfit proir to this time. The Executive Committee directed that I must first be trained to become a pastor. I accepted. Soon,on return to Nigeria,i began to fulfill the sinkor vision by becoming an itinerant evangelist with Brother Emma Uche who assisted me in no small measure.I began the ministry of CASOR from my humble village in Old Umuahia ,Abia State. The outreach was first called CHI ALPHA(Greak world for CHRIST AMBERSADORS).But because of the wrong pronounciation of of chi alpha,I changed it to Assembliss of God Advanced Student National Convention(AGASTUNAC).Uche and I began the publication of a magazine called PENTICOSTAL AWAKENING.This magazine died a natural death when i enrolled fultime, into Assembliss of God Bilbe College, old Umuahia. From 1972-1974 i was put on hold and the minisry of the outreach continiud, via exchange of letters with student by the then Assemblis of God Christ Ambassadors National Director,Rev.Dr. E.A.E Umo(rtd)The nigerian civil war ended in Januaru 1970 and schools were not fully restored earlier than september 1971. THE EXECUTIVE COMMITEE,at it's sitting in september 1974,taking a cue from my memorandum, resolved to establish campus ministry as a unit of the General Council Christ Ambassadors Department. So ,after my graguation from the bilbe college in 1974,the Executive Commitee named the outreach CHRIST AMBASSAGORS STUDENT OUTREACH(CASOR)and formerly appointed me first National Director with effect from january 1975. In ApriL 1975,i moved the make-shift CASOR office from old Umuahia to Nssukka. The aim was to use the University of Nigeria as a sprinboerd and to build UNN CASOR as a model.it was from Nssukka that what was CASOR Di rectorate, made up of my wife(whom i married in 1973) and I,lunched out to lay the fundation of a global edifice now called CASOR Nigeria.By the end of 1976,we had establishe CASOR beanch heads in nine centers. 1.University of Nigeria. 2.University of Ibadan
